What SwiftLing does

Documentation / Getting started

SwiftLing makes your WordPress site multilingual. It finds the texts of a page as visitors see them, wherever they come from: the block editor, a page builder, custom fields, forms, menus, your theme and your plugins. You translate them in one editor, beside the original, and each language gets an address of its own.

The translation editor: the original and its translation side by side.
The translation editor: the original and its translation side by side.

The idea in four sentences

  • Your content stays as it is. Translations are kept in SwiftLing’s own tables, so your pages are not copied for every language.
  • A text without a translation shows in the original. Nothing is hidden or left empty.
  • Every language has its own address: a folder (/de/), a parameter (?lang=de), a subdomain (de.example.com) or a domain of its own (example.de).
  • Machine translation uses your own key. Texts go straight from your site to the service, which bills you directly. SwiftLing sells no translation credits.

Free and Pro

SwiftLing is free, with any number of languages and no limit on pages or words. SwiftLing Pro is a second plugin that adds to it:
