Translating

  1. Type the translation in the field.
  2. Press Save and mark reviewed when it is right. Save keeps it without marking it checked.
  3. A text you leave empty is shown in the original.

Texts with code, images and links are kept apart from the words. Link addresses and attributes of tags are never sent to a translation service.

Machine translation in the editor

Press Translate empty fields with Google (the button names your service). The empty fields of the language shown are filled and saved as machine translations. Read them, then save to mark them reviewed. See Machine translation.

Other buttons: Copy the original into empty fields, and with Pro Translate again (see Translate again).

Images

An image field has Choose the image for this language. Use it to show another image in a language, such as a banner with text on it.

How this page shows in a language

Under How %s shows this page you choose between:

  • Translated here: the texts of the page, in this editor (the default).
  • Separate copy: a different layout, edited in its own editor. See Separate copies.
  • Keep the original: visitors in that language see the page in the original, as it is. It counts as done, so Translate everything skips it.

Around this page

The header, footer, menu and site title around a page are translated once for the whole site, in the template. The editor links to it under Around this page: Translate the template.
