Version 1.0 · In force from: 22 October 2026 · Publisher and responsible person: Bruno Kos
1. Who is responsible
The controller of the personal data described here is:
BBird, obrt za računalno programiranje, vl. Bruno Kos
“We” in this policy means the controller. “SwiftLing” is our WordPress plugin, “SwiftLing Pro” its paid add-on, and “swiftling.pro” our website and support desk.
2. The short version
- The free plugin sends nothing to us unless an administrator presses Send on its Request support screen. Visits to a website that uses SwiftLing never send anything to us.
- Texts you translate go from your site straight to the translation service you chose, with your own key. We never see them.
- We use personal data only to answer your support request, to sell and license SwiftLing Pro, and to keep the service safe.
- We never ask for a password. Temporary access to a site is given by you, ends by itself, and is deleted.
3. What we process, why, and on what legal basis
| Situation | Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| You visit swiftling.pro | IP address, browser, pages, time (server log) | Run and secure the website | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| You send a request from the free plugin | What it is about (plugin, theme or form, its name and version), what stays untranslated, a page address if you write one, your email, the version of SwiftLing, the language of the sender; if you tick it, the support report | Answer the request, test and add support for the plugin or theme | Your request, Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) |
| You write to Support in SwiftLing Pro | Subject and text of the request, screenshots (images, at most 3, 5 MB each), your email, the language you want the reply in, the address of your site, the install ID of your licence, the messages of the conversation | Answer the request | Contract or steps before a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| You attach or send the site summary | Versions of WordPress, PHP, the database server, SwiftLing and SwiftLing Pro, theme and active plugins with versions, the site’s languages and address format, latest errors and warnings. No content of pages, translations, passwords, keys or visitor data | Find the cause of a problem | Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a). You see exactly what is sent before you send it |
| You give temporary access | A temporary login link, the role and end you chose, the record of your consent (version of the terms, the three statements you confirmed, date, role, end) | Look at or fix what the request is about | Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a); the record of it: our legitimate interest in proving it, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| You buy or license SwiftLing Pro | Name, email, billing data, licence, the sites it is active on, plugin versions | Sell, license and update the plugin | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b); legal obligations such as accounting, Art. 6(1)(c) |
| Abuse limits | Counts of requests per site or address in a short time | Stop abuse (at most 5 requests an hour) | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) |
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising or profiling. We do not make decisions about you by automated means.
4. How requests travel
Requests from SwiftLing Pro are sent over HTTPS and signed with a secret key of your licence’s installation, so nobody else can write in the name of your site. A request that is wrongly signed, older than five minutes or sent twice is refused.
5. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| A request from SwiftLing, its messages and screenshots | 2 years after the last message, then deleted |
| The record of a consent (no link, no request text) | 5 years |
| A temporary login link | Until you end the access or the request is solved, and at most 14 days. The link is then removed from our notes, and the temporary user on your site is deleted by SwiftLing Pro when you end the access, or expires by itself |
| Server logs of swiftling.pro | 30 days |
| Invoices and accounting records | As the law requires (11 years) |
Deletion runs daily and is automatic.
6. Who receives it
- Hosting provider of swiftling.pro and the email provider that sends our replies: the providers we use at the time, who process data only on our instructions. Ask us for their current names.
- Freemius, Inc., which sells and licenses SwiftLing Pro and processes payments. Freemius has its own privacy policy: https://freemius.com/privacy/ . Please check its current terms for the roles each of us has.
- Support is run with the plugin Fluent Support on our own server. No other company receives your requests.
- Authorities or advisers, when the law requires it or to defend legal claims.
If a recipient is outside the European Economic Area, we rely on a mechanism the law accepts, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. Translation services
SwiftLing can translate your texts with services you connect yourself, such as Google Cloud Translation, DeepL, Claude, OpenAI or Gemini. The texts go from your site to that service, with your key, only when an administrator starts a translation. We are not a party to that, and we never see the texts or the key. Read the terms and privacy policy of the service you use.
8. Cookies and similar
swiftling.pro uses no analytics or advertising cookies. It may set only cookies that are technically necessary, such as for logging in or for the support desk.
SwiftLing remembers in the visitor’s browser, without cookies, that a visitor closed its suggestion of another language. That is stored on the site that uses SwiftLing, not with us.
9. Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, a copy in a portable format, and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time; this does not affect what happened before. Write to support@swiftling.pro. We reply within one month.
You may complain to the supervisory authority. In Croatia it is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), https://azop.hr .
10. Business customers and the data on your site
When you give us access to your site, we may be able to see personal data of your visitors and customers. For that we act on your instructions, and the Support terms apply: access only for your request, no copying of data, no change without saying so in the request first. You, as the controller of that data, must be allowed to give this access, and you decide whether to give it. Access is at your own risk, as the support terms say.
11. Is providing data required?
You decide what you send. Without an email address we cannot answer a request, and without the data of a purchase we cannot license SwiftLing Pro. The site summary and temporary access are always optional.
12. Data protection officer
We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the law does not require it for us. Write to support@swiftling.pro for any privacy question.
13. Security
HTTPS, signed requests, a limited number of requests, access to the support desk only for us, automatic deletion, no passwords requested or stored, temporary access that ends by itself. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you we will tell you and the authority as the law requires.
14. Children
SwiftLing is for site owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
15. Changes
If we change this policy, we publish the new version here with a new date. For changes that matter to you, we tell you in the plugin or by email.
