| Original | The language your content is written in. |
| Translation editor | The screen with the original beside its translation. |
| Subject | What the editor opens: a post, a template, a menu, a list of terms. |
| State | Reviewed, machine translated, original changed, partly translated, not translated. |
| Reviewed | A translation someone has checked. |
| Machine translated | A translation a service wrote, not yet read. |
| Slug | The part of an address that names a page, such as contact in /contact/. |
| hreflang | Links in a page’s head that tell search engines about its other languages. |
| Separate copy | A page of its own for a language, with its own layout. |
| Keep the original | A page shown in the original language in every language, on purpose. |
| Locale | A language and region, such as de_DE or pt_BR. |
| Never translated | Words or content kept as written. |
| Glossary (Pro) | Terms and how each language translates them. |
| Licence (Pro) | The right to updates and support of SwiftLing Pro. |
| Staging copy | A copy of a site where problems can be looked at safely. |
